A Grassroots Effort to End forced Annexation Abuse in North Carolina

"We lay it down as a fundamental, that laws, to be just,
must give a reciprocation of right; that, without this, they are mere arbitrary rules of conduct, founded in force, and not in conscience."
--Thomas Jefferson

Fourth Annual 'Rally in Raleigh'

June 4th - 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm
Downtown Raleigh, NC
Bicentennial Mall - 16 W. Jones St.

YOU make the difference for reform!

The people have joined their voices together to appeal to our lawmakers for change to the NC annexation laws. It is your letters, emails, phone calls and visits to the Legislators that has brought the issue to the forefront in the General Assembly this year.

NOW_ it is critical that hundreds of people rally together in Raleigh on June 4th to make personal visits to all of our Legislators. We need to make sure that they know how the people feel about the forced annexation laws of North Carolina. They need to see an even larger crowd gathered across from their offices this year.

With the House Study Committee on Municipal Annexation, the Moratorium Bill that the Committee has filed, the House & Senate Minority Leadership holding a Press Conference about the annexation reform issue, and a Resolution filed by Senator Brock, the momentum that you have built needs a great big exclamation mark! This Rally is our chance to do that.

The City Lobbyists work in Raleigh every day and each year they sponsor an event that brings hundreds of City Officials to Raleigh to lobby for the cities and the NCLM Agenda. That Agenda always includes strong opposition to reforming annexation. The undue influence of the NCLM needs to be countered by a very large signal from the citizens of this State.

Start time: 12:30 pm (pick up literature)
Citizen legislative visits: 1:00 to 2:30-ish
March past NCLM: (when ready)
Speakers at the Mall: 3:30
Rally ends at 4:30
