The Town Of Cary announced plans in 2003 to annex neighborhoods in southern Wake County against their will in an effort to expand its tax base, and pay for large investments previously made in this area against the will of residents. The purpose of this website is to organize opposition to fight this forced annexation that is only allowed in six out of the 50 states. We aim to exert political pressure on local, regional, and state-wide elected representative so that the law in North Carolina may be changed - for sound and collaborative community growth and development.

Since then, the Town has adopted a Resolution of Consideration which puts many areas around Cary on notice that they will be annexed on a 'fast track' time frame as soon as the Town feels that it is ready to move forward with the annexations.

• Cary taxpayers will be spending in excess of $21 Million Dollars to annex approximately 1,500 households that are not in need of municipal services offered - and balloon an ever-increasing debt burden. If you are a Cary resident that believes in fiscal discipline rather than "developer subsidies", please contact your representatives through this link.
  
  
• If you are a Cary resident and were annexed against your will, please contact us to tell us about your experience, and help us organize broad opposition within Cary. Help us change the law - or replace the lawmakers on the Town Council.
  
  
• We are looking for current Cary residents that strongly oppose forced annexation, and that are interested in running for Town Council. We have many eager voters that are looking to endorse candidates for the people, not against them. We will assist through votes, fundraising, and experience in the electoral process.
  
  
• As residents of Area 20 and Area 21 we have started to explore legal options against the Town of Cary as well as other means available to citizens who are unwilling to be incorporated into a municipality against their will. We will soon begin establishing a legal fund, and also require attorneys experienced in fighting a "Goliath".
