The Stop Cary initiative is working with other citizen groups throughout the state to collect signatures from residents that oppose forced annexation so that North Carolina can join other states that have abolished this undemocratic practice.

There are two types of petitions:

Online petition for all North Carolina residents opposing the policy of forced annexation permitted in this state. Please follow this link to sign this petition that we will be using to show the state legislature our broad state-wide support.

Hardcopy petition for residents of the neighborhoods targeted by the Town of Cary. Neighborhoods coordinators will be working within Area 20 and Area 21 to collect signatures from all residents that Cary intended to involuntary annex in March 2004. If you do not live in one of the those neighborhoods, please download the petition.
